38, of El Paso, Texas; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas; died Jan. 19 of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Mosul, Iraq.
