Army Spc. Stephen M. Scott,


21, of Lawton, Okla.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; died on Aug. 23 near Fallujah, Iraq, from non-combat injuries.

Army Pfc. Vorn J. Mack,


19, of Orangeburg, S.C.; assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo.; died on Aug. 23 near the Hadithah Dam, west of Ramadi, Iraq. Mack jumped into the Euphrates River to take a swim and did not resurface. A search party found his body downstream on Aug. 24.

35, of Rainbow City, Ala.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Aug. 23 when his patrol came under rocket-propelled grenade attack in Baghdad.

27, of Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.; killed Aug. 23 when enemy forces detonated an explosive device near his position in Baqubah, Iraq.

39, of Proctor, Vt.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion (General Studies), 124th Regiment (Regional Training Institute), Army National Guard ,Colchester, Vt., killed Aug. 23 during combat operations when he was attacked by enemy forces using small arms fire in Ramadi, Iraq.
