28, of Houston; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning, Ga.; died Oct. 25 at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, of injuries sustained Oct. 17 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Bradley Fighting Vehicle in Samarra, Iraq. The incident fatally injured another soldier and was reported Oct. 25.
